<p>To achieve the affectivity of aromatherapy, many conduct it using aromatherapy oils, which can be &#8220;essential oils,&#8221; or &#8220;absolute oils.&#8221; The most common of application of aromatherapy oils is by directly pouring it on the skin. Aromatherapy oils are usually poured on the palms and rubbed to the affected area to achieve the desired purpose. </p>
<p>Another means of utilizing aromatherapy oils is through inhalation. This is done by placing a tiny drop of your chosen aromatherapy oil on a piece facial tissue or soft cloth and is placed under the nostril to be inhaled. This can easily soothe the senses of a person especially those that are living quite stressful lives. Aside from inhaling when placed on a cloth or a tissue, you can reap the benefits of aromatherapy oils through steam inhalation that involves the use of the aromatherapy oil dropped in bowl of hot water. <p>You can reap benefits from the different uses of aromatherapy oils. But, bear in mind that accidents also happen through the improper use aromatherapy oils. Before buying or using aromatherapy oils, it is always best to familiarize yourself with them so you will know the things that you should consider. </p>
<p>1. Know the various types aromatherapy oils. Each kind of aromatherapy oil has varying therapeutic qualities. If you are not well versed with aromatherapy oils, chances are, you will buy the wrong kind of oil that can cause you harm. It is always best that you are knowledgeable about the product you will use and you are very well aware of its properties to ensure that you will not encounter any accidents or health complications.</p>
<p>2. Always check the container carefully. In buying aromatherapy oils, the first thing that you should do is to be meticulous about the container. This is because the container will easily tell you if the product is safe to use and if it is still effective. (TIP: Never buy aromatherapy oils that are placed inside plastic containers or bottles because it means that the intrinsic properties of the contents must have been damaged due to lack of light.) 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>All you aromatherapy newbies out there don&#8217;t be afraid. Stop hiding from your closet and start exploring the world of aromatherapy.  The benefits outweigh whatever social stigma you have on aromatherapy. This is not exclusive for those rich, pompous people who do this because they can afford it and have all the time in the world to do it. On the contrary, aromatherapy is more for hard working people like us. We are the ones whose body and soul needs some relaxation, uplifting, and rejuvenation. </p>
<p><span id="more-48"></span></p>
<p>Aromatherapy, however, is not a walk in the park. There are certain do&#8217;s and don&#8217;ts that you need to follow to maximize the benefits and avoid whatever possible risks there are.</p>
<p>Risks? Yes, there are a few undesirables when using aromatherapy essential oils but that is mostly due to improper use. Some are actually used as perfume or massage oils, applying them liberally on the skin. You must take care doing this especially when applying undiluted essential oils. Some essential oils like orange or peppermint cause irritation. Diluting the essential oil in a carrier oil (such as soya been, safflower, wheat germ, sweet almond oil, avocado, and olive oil) is always recommended when using it for external applications including aromatherapy bath and massage.</p>
<p>For internal application, however, I give you this advice: Don&#8217;t take essential oils without first consulting your physician. It may lead to something worse so don&#8217;t go mixing essential oils in your tea or drink. </p>
<p>Okay, now on to the good stuff. As a newbie in aromatherapy, it is easy to get lost in all the different essential oils out on the market today. You need to learn how to distinguish from the fake essential oils and genuine ones. The best way to avoid the inconvenience is to go to a reputable store. That could be the easiest solution for now but you will eventually learn the tricks of the trade as you get more accustomed and knowledgeable to aromatherapy. </p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a good tip. When buying essential oils, avoid those brands with rubber tops covers. There&#8217;s a good chance that they&#8217;re not as pure as they claim. Since essential oils are very concentrated, they can dissolve or turn rubber tops into gum. </p>
<p>To get you started, it would be best to begin with the more common and much simpler essential oil blends like lavender and chamomile. Another good combination is orange and grapefruit, which by the way, gives your body that energized feel. </p>
<p>Actually, there are still a couple of things that you need to learn as an aromatherapy newbie. But the warnings and tips mentioned can get you going for the time being. </p>
