There are numerous uses for aromatherapy essential oils, each one having unique properties and benefits. How they are used is also determine by the individual oil and the desired outcome. For example, lemongrass is said to promote concentration and focus and is recommended to be used in a lamp diffuser.

Spearmint is another of the aromatherapy essential oils working as a stimulant to the central nervous system, said to counter depression. Used as a massage oil it refreshes the skin and helps tired muscles. Although many so-called aromatherapy essential oils have a pleasing fragrance, they may offer little or no therapeutic value beyond smelling good, such as oils from the pomegranate.

There are several aromatherapy essential oils used in aromatherapy that are also used for massage therapy for relaxation as well as for their therapeutic value. It is well known that the scent of lavender boosts relaxation and stress relief when used in a candle or diffuser, but it also highly touted when included in a massage oil. The body can absorb essential oils in two methods. When massaged into the skin they are they are absorbed into the blood stream and when inhaled, such as from a candle or diffuser, they enter through the nasal passage and into the lungs before entering the blood stream.

Grade Of Oil Determines Benefit

It is estimated that about 90 percent of the aromatherapy essential oils sold in the United States are fragrance or food grade oils and for the most part simply smell good. Therapeutic grade aromatherapy essential oils typically contain a minimum of 75 percent oil along with water, vegetable oil or some other medium. The therapeutic grade oils are touted as the ones offering most health benefits, especially for massages, while perfume and food grades may offer some benefit through the aroma.

The uses of aromatherapy essential oils by those who practice holistic healing claim the positive effects of the oils help heal the mind, body and spirit. Whether the oils are inhaled or massaged into the skin, they consider the approach to have a positive effect at all levels. This approach looks at the whole person for healing with emphasis on physical and mental well-being in addition to social and spiritual growth.

Aromatherapists will not diagnose illnesses or injuries, rather they will accept physicians’ diagnosis and work with aromatherapy essential oils known to them to provide benefit for the issues identified by the professional medical practicioner.

All you aromatherapy newbies out there don’t be afraid. Stop hiding from your closet and start exploring the world of aromatherapy. The benefits outweigh whatever social stigma you have on aromatherapy. This is not exclusive for those rich, pompous people who do this because they can afford it and have all the time in the world to do it. On the contrary, aromatherapy is more for hard working people like us. We are the ones whose body and soul needs some relaxation, uplifting, and rejuvenation.

Aromatherapy, however, is not a walk in the park. There are certain do’s and don’ts that you need to follow to maximize the benefits and avoid whatever possible risks there are.

Risks? Yes, there are a few undesirables when using aromatherapy essential oils but that is mostly due to improper use. Some are actually used as perfume or massage oils, applying them liberally on the skin. You must take care doing this especially when applying undiluted essential oils. Some essential oils like orange or peppermint cause irritation. Diluting the essential oil in a carrier oil (such as soya been, safflower, wheat germ, sweet almond oil, avocado, and olive oil) is always recommended when using it for external applications including aromatherapy bath and massage.

For internal application, however, I give you this advice: Don’t take essential oils without first consulting your physician. It may lead to something worse so don’t go mixing essential oils in your tea or drink.

Okay, now on to the good stuff. As a newbie in aromatherapy, it is easy to get lost in all the different essential oils out on the market today. You need to learn how to distinguish from the fake essential oils and genuine ones. The best way to avoid the inconvenience is to go to a reputable store. That could be the easiest solution for now but you will eventually learn the tricks of the trade as you get more accustomed and knowledgeable to aromatherapy.

Here’s a good tip. When buying essential oils, avoid those brands with rubber tops covers. There’s a good chance that they’re not as pure as they claim. Since essential oils are very concentrated, they can dissolve or turn rubber tops into gum.

To get you started, it would be best to begin with the more common and much simpler essential oil blends like lavender and chamomile. Another good combination is orange and grapefruit, which by the way, gives your body that energized feel.

Actually, there are still a couple of things that you need to learn as an aromatherapy newbie. But the warnings and tips mentioned can get you going for the time being.

Whether you are shopping for yourself or for another person who is into aromatherapy, it is always best that you make smart decisions in the things that you will purchase. Being wise and smart about the choices that you make in buying aromatherapy products will not only ensure that you will get your moneys worth but also your overall safety or the person you are buying the products for.

In aromatherapy, essential oils are one of the most important aspects that should be paid attention to. This is because the purity of the essential oil as well as the knowledge on how to use it properly will ensure your success in getting the results that you want. One of the most consumed products that contain essential oils is an aromatherapy candle. Although it is easier to use compared to the direct application of essential oils, using aromatherapy candles can pose a threat and danger to you and your family’s safety once there is lack of precaution while burning it.

To ensure that you will be safe when using aromatherapy candles, here are some reminders.

1. Always buy aromatherapy candles that you need. Although the cute and countless designs of aromatherapy candles are quite tempting to collect, you should restrict yourself in buying those that you don’t need. When buying aromatherapy candles, make sure that you buy only those that contain essential oils that can help you. If you want to strengthen the immune system, opt for those that have extracts from eucalyptus. If you have problems with sleeping, buy aromatherapy candles that have sage oil because it contains properties that aid restful slumber. If you want to relieve or alleviate stress, use aromatherapy candles with chamomile extracts because it has properties that help soothe stressed out nerves.

2. Don’t be fooled by the price. Generally, aromatherapy candles are much cheaper compared to other aromatherapy products available. So, if you are buying aromatherapy candles, choose those that have reasonable prices but of quality to ensure that you will reap the benefits that you want.

3. Never, ever leave an aromatherapy candle burning. Since these contain essential oils that are highly volatile, aromatherapy candles should not be left burning. If you are burning an aromatherapy candle, make sure that you have water at hand or a fire extinguisher beside you to ensure that there will be no fire. Also, make sure that no kids are around when burning an aromatherapy candle because they may be tempted to play with them.

Aromatherapy lovers should consider the idea of wholesale aromatherapy candle purchases. Candles have come a long way, offering light and well being since the beginning of time.

Candles are present in every special occasion of our lives from romantic candle lit dinners to formal dining and holidays. Now, candles have gone a step further and along with the beauty of their light, they can be combined with aromatherapy essential oils and offering twice the benefits.

A Brief History of Candles

Initially candles were made out of bee wax (still are in some countries) from the honey combs of bees. They did not smell great but their use for lighting was indispensable before the invention of electricity.

Paraffin wax and other vegetable waxes are also used to make candles; candles made out of this type of wax are soft and have a very low melting point until a chemical called stearic acid was added to paraffin wax to harden it.

Wholesale candles are usually made out of a variety of wax such as honey well, crafters choice, Cargill and soy.

In 1834 Joseph Morgan invented the cylindrical candles.

Wholesale Candles

Wholesale candles are made either by hand or machine. These candles are usually bought by businesses or individuals for usage such as ceremonies, marriages, birthdays etc.

The wholesale aromatherapy candle is made only for aromatherapy lovers who use them only for aromatherapy benefits such as relaxation, de-stressing and/or invigorating themselves.

Buying from wholesale outlets can net one considerable savings however you must know the product well in order to purchase a large amount of it. If you are not sure of the product, take care before you purchase a wholesale aromatherapy candle from one of the many outlets.

Another advantage of buying from wholesale dealers is that you may get various free accessories to go along with your original purchase. They can vary from a diffuser to candle holders to an aromatherapy burner.

Shop Around

Wholesale aromatherapy candle stores are hard to find in the usual places we shop such as supermarkets or drug stores. You may have to check your area for such an outlet. Some department stores do offer wholesale prices at times depending on the quantity you buy; usually such offers are listed in the sale items and happen only in case the store wants to eliminate that item to make space for a more recent version or type.

Aromatherapy candles are a blessing in any place or home; they set the atmosphere with the intimate light as well as pamper your senses.

Downloading aromatherapy recipes is all well and good, but if you really want to learn how to make aromatherapy essential oils, you need to actually take a course.

It is not as simple as just getting the right aromatherapy recipe and plugging in all of the ingredients. As with everything, there is a lot to learn to do the first time that you try out aromatherapy recipes.

To begin with, you have to know how the aromatherapy essential oil is supposed to smell. If you are making aromatherapy recipes that involve flowers, for example, this will determine when in the life cycle you should pick them. They will have a tart smell early on, and be overflowing with sweetness when they become ripe of over-ripe. This can really change the effect that aromatherapy recipes have on the emotions, so you should do all that you can to learn the ins and outs before calling yourself an expert on them. The simple fact of the matter is that aromatherapy recipes must be carefully carried out by someone who actually knows what he or she is doing, or they will not work out quite right. And that can cause more harm than good.

Of course, if you are just using so-called aromatherapy recipes to extract essential oils, then go about it anyway that you wish, but do not go calling it aromatherapy. Essential oil recipes can be good for all kinds of things. You can use variations on aromatherapy recipes for basic fragrances to give you a nice scent, or even for skincare.

There are many botanical extracts that really have great healing powers, and you can take advantage of them by using aromatherapy recipes to mix them in particularly appealing ways. This can be a great way to get good scents and oils to use in a variety of applications. You should experiment and see what works for you. It can be so rewarding to discover a new way of employing aromatherapy recipes to improve your health and beauty.

I can not recommend trying these aromatherapy recipes out enough. It really can do a lot for you. In the first place, it can give you a new and rewarding hobby, but even beyond that, it can give you an opportunity to start to understand the full power of nature. And the power of nature is something that everyone should learn to understand.

Getting aromatherapy essential oils is a great way to improve your mood and the moods of those around you. Oh, I know what you are thinking. You probably are one of the great many people who think that aromatherapy essential oil is just simply a bunch of hokum.

Well, you could not be more wrong. You see, the brain is effected by all of the senses, but none of them have a more profound effect than the sense of smell. aromatherapy essential oil takes advantage of the fact that, unlike the other 4 senses, the sense of smell is wired directly in to the brain. This means that it is quite easy to change emotions, and even to evoke ling past memories just simply through the use of smell.

Aromatherapy essential oil is made especially to do just this, with each scent carefully tested to make sure that it creates the desired response in the person inhaling it. You can use aromatherapy essential oil alone, or you can use it in combination with different colors of light, or with soothing music to add to the effect. Either of these can add even more to the effect of the aromatherapy extract.

Of course, having the right atmosphere is pretty key to enjoying the full benefits of using aromatherapy essential oil. Of course, you can put aromatherapy essential oil on, and wear it around town as a fragrance. This can have a nice scent, and maybe even have a little effect on your mood and the moods of those who you come in contact with. But you can not really call it an opportunity to get the full therapeutic effect of aromatherapy essential oil. To do that, you need to be able to sit back, relax, and absorb the whole scent. This is the only way to let it work its magic on your psyche.

The aromatherapy essential oil is powerful, but it has a very subtle effect, and it is easy to lose this effect if you do not use the extract in the correct manner. Besides that, if you use the aromatherapy essential oil for your everyday scent, it will begin to lose some of its power for you.

You will begin to associate it with your day to day life, and as a result, it will lose the power to relax you and put your mind at ease completely.
